What is a Nurse Educator?
Nurse educators are nurses who teach and train other nurses. She or he must have at the minimum a master's degree in nursing if she is teaching nurses on the bachelor level. If she is teaching students of the master level, she will need to at least have a doctoral degree.

The educator of nurses can teach different levels of education. They sometimes teach students straight out of high school. Some of the students have different training and experiences. She or he comes up with the courses plan for the specific program and then teaches it to the students. They teach students the basic of implementing nurse plans and taking care of patients. Below are some their duties:

1. They come up with lesson plans on the current subject.

2. They teach nursing curriculum in schools and colleges.

3. They train students and nurses in nursing programs.

4. They teach nursing seminars and in-services.

5. They act as leaders in the healthcare field.

6. They work hands on in healthcare as a floor nurse.

7. They also work in research in the healthcare.

8. Etc.

How to Become a Nurse Educator:
One of the very first things you to do is obtain your high school diploma. That is the first steps to jump-start your road into establishing a career as an educator of nurses. Once you have received your diploma, you can then begin to decide which path you want to go in order to pursue your career.

You can first attend a one-year program to get your Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Then you can bridge through a non-traditional nursing program to get your Registered Nurse (RN) license. Next, you can transfer to a school and get your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and then further your school by going for your Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.

You can also just go to a traditional four-year college or university and major in nursing, getting your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Then you can get your Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Once you have these degrees and schooling you can then begin to teach.

If you are going to teach student who have their masters then you will need to further your education and get your doctoral (PhD) degree.

The nurse educator can be a very rewarding career path as you can work hand in hand with other nurses and help with family members and their loved ones. You can work behind the scenes as a teacher and guide the mind of future caretakers or you can work behind the scene in research.

Nurse Educator Salary:
The educator of nurses makes very good money. The national average pay is $79,000 per year. We have seen some that make as much as $95,000 per year. This depends on your level of education, where you teach, and years of experience.
